Chipmunk Jedi

Few creatures of burden were of more use to the Empire than the Giant Chipmunk. It's too bad those parts of the movie were cut. Better than those damn Ewoks.

The above photo is not a photoshop. Photographer Chris McVeigh, rather than doing his laundry or solving world peace, devoted his spare time to training his neighborhood wild squirrels to tolerate being photographed with toys. When almonds are involved, a squirrel will put up with all kinds of crap.

Light Tests

In a similar vein to the china girl, pro photographers set their lighting and cameras based on reference material. They usually get tossed, but this is the internet: there's a place for everything to get saved:

Long-Term Car Owners

I recently noticed a guy I knew in High School finally bought a new pickup: it was old when he first got it, and up until this spring he had driven it around for his lawncare business. As you might expect, as a work truck, it had been slowly falling apart and crumpling up for the past twenty years; while he's pretty much looked the same, the truck aged -- unlike these long-term vehicle owners, who've stopped their cars from aging but were unable to prevent the passage of time for themselves:

Pinhole Camera

Really, if you know what a pinhole camera is, you can easily find many more varied, useful, and informative internet content -- but this article from Low-Tech Mag does a nice job of condensing it for the masses, while tossing in some excellent examples of the process.

People Going Someplace

Andrew Bush’s “Vector Portraits” are pictures of people in the car next to you -- usually you don't notice them, they don't notice you, but here they are, photographed permanently partway between where they were and where they're going:
